JOURNAMALISTS. Here's a clue that a press release was written by the Yes Men, not Chevron: the title includes the phrase "Chevron Deplores."

Why is the American public so uninformed? This is ridiculous. Chevron is not an oil giant - there are at least 20 organizations that are much larger than Chevron. American oil companies combined make up only about 5% of the total oil production in the WORLD!!! Why don't these so called activist ever target the actual 'oil giants'? And next time you criticize an ENERGY company - forget about the whole 'how would you fuel your car' - no think aout something more tangible - plastic. What do you think its made of? Crude oil and natural gas. So before you preach from your pedestal - stop using plastic, stop using gas, stop using all petroleum products and then maybe you'll actually be believable. And as far as the Ecuador issue - look it up and actually read the facts and not the cute activist party lines. Read about the fact that the Ecuador Governement in fact cleared Chevron then-Texaco of all environmental responsibility because Chevron then -Texaco cleaned up all spillage. You know what - just read about it.

“When it comes to oil spills, climate change and human rights abuses, we need real action from Chevron,” said the e-mail. “Instead, the oil giant has prioritized a high-priced glossy advertising campaign that attempts to trick the American people into believing it is different than BP.” ******************

Oil giant? World's largest oil companies. Chevron is 21st. Exxon is 17th.

All total Government owned oil companies control greater than 90% of the world's reserves....but being critical of government companies affords no political clout from politicians.

Yet another fact in the petro-sapians' habitat that most are completely unaware of.

Telling a petro sapian its addicted to oil is like telling a fish it's addicted to water. Oil production has peaked, the oil pond is not getting bigger and within a couple of years begin shinking, while at the same time more and more indo-petro-sapians are trying to get into the same oil pond.

Gawd people are stupid...or should I say petro-sapians are stupid. Global oil production has peaked. The US military issued this report
U.S. JOINT OPERATING ENVIRONMENT REPORT 2010
“A severe energy crunch is inevitable without a massive expansion of production and refining capacity. While it is difficult to predict precisely what economic, political, and strategic effects such a shortfall might produce, it surely would reduce the prospects for growth in both the developing and developed worlds. Such an economic slowdown would exacerbate other unresolved tensions, push fragile and failing states further down the path toward collapse, and perhaps have serious economic impact on both China and India. At best, it would lead to periods of harsh economic adjustment. To what extent conservation measures, investments in alternative energy production, and efforts to expand petroleum production from tar sands and shale would mitigate such a period of adjustment is difficult to predict. One should not forget that the Great Depression spawned a number of totalitarian regimes that sought economic prosperity for their nations by ruthless conquest...By 2012, surplus oil production capacity could entirely disappear, and as early as 2015, the shortfall in output could reach nearly 10 million barrels per day.”

The US consumes 8.98M bbl/day just for gasoline. So in 5 years the equivalent to all the US highway fleet fuels will be gone, forever, out of the world economy.

you had better start worrying about you own economic survival.

Excellent. We must continue ridiculing and exposing big business crimes all the time. We should never allow them to put up a facade.

"Chevron should stop spending tens of millions of dollars funding fake Global Warming deniers." - "To which Chevron said, 'We Agree'".

I just wish it wasn't a spoof.

Nicely done. The fake second press release with the made up Chevron reaction was brilliant. Took the words right out of their mouths. Hilarious.!
