The Yes Men present:
Creative Mischief Explosion
Featuring Andy Bichlbaum

The Yes Men, an activist group known for a variety of hoaxes
designed to disrupt or subvert mainstream, consumerist institutions.
They sneak into corporate events disguised as captains of industry, then use their
momentary authority to expose the biggest criminals on the planet.
UPDATE on their current and past shenanigans
and how that supports the changes happening in the world.
THE YES MEN have gained international acclaim and notoriety for exposing dehumanizing business practices and helping to keep critical issues in the international spotlight. They do this through impersonating representatives of powerful corporations and government organizations such as ExxonMobil, McDonald's, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. THE YES MEN's famed hoaxes include a collaboratively produced fake New York Times announcing the end of the Iraq War, a phony George W. Bush website celebrating the unsavory details of the then-Presidential candidate, and the false announcement of the World Trade Organization's dissolution in order to shift focus to helping the poor.
Other recent antics include impersonating DuPont and Dow Chemical to appear on international TV to apologize and make reparations to the victims of the deadly Bhopal, India chemical plant leak, and announcing, as a top GE executive, that GE would pay $3 billion in US taxes instead of relying on its tax avoidance schemes to erase its profits.

THE YES MEN story began in 1999, just before the big protests in Seattle. Mike Bonanno (the BLO mastermind who switched the voice boxes of Barbie and G.I. Joe dolls and returned them to store shelves), and Andy Bichlbaum, (who made a splash by programming smooching, speedo-clad men into 80,000 copies of an action video game) set up a parody of the WTO website at the domain GATT.org. Some people mistook it for the real thing and invited them to speak on CNBC, at conferences, schools, and other forums as the WTO. Andy and Mike donned thrift store suits and set out to shock unwitting audiences with darkly comic satire that highlights the worst aspects of global free trade. Since then The Yes Men have impersonated some of the world's most powerful criminals, in order to correct their identities.
