the yes men democracy now

The Yes Men have struck again. On Tuesday, a man claiming to be a representative of Halliburton gave a presentation at the “Catastrophic Loss” conference at the Ritz-Carlton in Amelia Island, Florida. Conference attendees include leaders from the insurance industry. We speak with the Yes Men’s Andy Bichlbaum, who took part in the hoax.

“This is great!… But what about terrorism?”

#2 frankystein12 on 06.26.10 at 7:04 am

I love Democracy Now and the Yes Men. They are part of the resistance that stand up to the pathetic mainstream media and the sheep-like populace.

#5 tnrc75 on 06.26.10 at 8:24 am

@Treaded88 example please?

#6 Treaded88 on 06.26.10 at 9:19 am

Democracy now often ignores real constitutional violations and instead editorialize much of what they “report”.

They get an F-.

These guys should be ashamed of themselves!
They are nothing but obstructionists. The insurance companies are looking for solutions to protect people and these “yes men” just wasted their time and money. Now my insurance prices will have to go up so that next year the conference attendees can still afford the luxury suites…and hookers.

What a great way to ACT OUT against the too many wrongs of our gov’t. You have to admire these guy’s many ON TARGET hoax’s… as we chuckle on.
I hope that we all ACT OUT as a form of sending our message.
Please see also TheAntiTerrorist;s channel and look at more of the YesMen video’s. It is all good.

#14 MothaFuckthePolice on 06.26.10 at 2:07 pm

lol I LOVE YOU YES MEN! haha
Libertarian movement = less votes for Republicans- do it guys

#15 Largehippo on 06.26.10 at 2:30 pm

his point is to plug an unnamed ad for the libertarian movement. I’ll not waste my breath on explaining it further.

and yes, laissez-faire would almost certainly lead to an even more corporatist system.

Secular capitalism sucks. No different than Nazism.

I Love this shit go YES MEN

#19 theoboss99 on 06.26.10 at 3:45 pm

Im sorry but totally unrestrained free market capitalism is ridiculous. It i s a system based on greed. Businesses seek to gain the fastest possible return on their investments often without care for the environment or the people that surround it. It needs to be kept under control.

#20 theoboss99 on 06.26.10 at 3:47 pm

im sorry i dont actually understand your argument.. with respect..what exactly is your point?

#21 EdMan2012 on 06.26.10 at 4:22 pm

you want 2 keep believing Obama & Bernanke, go ahead. Every other “informed citizen” is.
Listen. I know u have invested ur whole being & beliefs on Obama. I’ve seen the hysteria. I saw it w/ the neo-cons & Bush. Its all bullsh!t.

Socialism and corporatism is what makes up our current govt
Bush increased the size of government & its powers (militarily 2, remember patriot act?) We’ve had socialist programs in this country (long time). Obama is pushing for more.

I was saying ‘F*ck the founding fathers” BECAUSE this has nothing to do with them.. if you look down the page ull see it was nightwar102 who brought them up.
In response to your comment… it seems that unrestrained CAPITALISM has ‘f*cked’ up the whole world in the current recession. It was the totally unregulated banks that brought us where we are today..Why should we have REAL FREE market capitalism?.. why not have some regulation to prevent disasters and exploitation?

#23 EdMan2012 on 06.26.10 at 5:40 pm

Well it’s a good thing Obama favors the WTO, IMF, & NAFTA

Don’t say “f*ck the founding fathers”, this has nothing to do with them.

Corporatism and socialism has f*cked up this country and has allowed the U.S. and other nations (even communist China) to exploit their populations.

In REAL FREE market capitalism, the gov’t does not interfere with business, only if that business has committed fraud or committed human rights violations or enviornmental violations in public or private lands

#24 dozze1234 on 06.26.10 at 6:34 pm

I just came to Serbia and what you are saying is absolutely true.
The whole Balkan war had nothing to do with ethnic violence or ethnic cleansing. It had everything to do with Nato expansion, IMF and corporate take over.

All of Serbian industry is destroyed. But we have new companies now:
US Steel, CocaCola and British American Tobacco…
