Journal: Fixing the World Through Provoking the World Through Pranks & Film
Just a quick notice about a new movie worth seeing called “The Yes Men Fix the World.”
The movie shows some of the pranks they have pulled at corporate events
and on television (BBC) saying what needs to be said when persons in
government and the corporate world refuse to. The big prank was
on Dow Chemical, when a fake representative of Dow was contacted by BBC
to appear on TV to apologize and give the people of Bhopal 12 billion
dollars in relation to the worst industrial disaster in history that
occured in Bhopal, India.
The movie ends on a good note, that despite the state of the world,
there are ways we can create that will alter it’s direction for the
better. It won’t be an easy ride, but it can be fun.
