Ho had been looking forward to this event.

"I've been really excited about it, it's a very interesting event," Ho said. "It's a moving event; students being able to see Mike Bonanno speak and have one on one time with him."

Sumedha Sharma, a third-year electrical engineering student, enjoyed Mike Bonanno's presentation.

"It was very eye opening," Sharma said. "I wish more people would have shown up. I realized that everything that's reported in the news isn't necessarily true. You should research before you form opinions about something you hear in the news."

The Yes Men offered the opportunity for Mulligan to join them while he was a graduate student.

"I was in a bad place in life at that time so I couldn't go," Mulligan said. "I've been regretting it ever since."

Mulligan said it's important that students have reactions to things instead of being apathetic.

"I miss seeing students protest," Mulligan said. "There were three flag burnings during just my freshman year of college. I haven't even seen a flyer about a protest at UC."

Mulligan is working on bringing the Rev. Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping - an activist group that thinks consumerism is ruining the greater of humanity - to speak at UC during the Spring Quarter.

"We need more speakers that stand for something with all their being," Mulligan said. "No more apathetic speakers."

"Whether you believe in their social or political goals, a small group of people can make a difference in the world," Mulligan said. "I teach idealistically, it's my responsibility to preserve idealism. Students have four years to figure out who they are and what they believe. That's it. Then corruption begins."
