THE YES MEN FIX THE WORLD is a screwball true story about two gonzo political activists who, posing as top executives of giant corporations, lie their way into big business conferences and pull off the world's most outrageous pranks. This peer-to-peer special edition of the film is unique: it is preceded by an EXCLUSIVE VIDEO of the Yes Men impersonating the United States Chamber of Commerce. Because the Yes Men are being sued for this stunt, p2p is the only way that this film will get seen. Please spread the word!

From the Yes Men

"We have been impersonating people in power in order to make political points for over a decade. The Yes Men Fix the World is our second feature film. It's won a bucket of awards and accolades, but we're still broke. We are hoping that people who share it will donate some money so that we can do even more outrageous actions.

How outrageous? Outrageous enough to get us sued! Not long ago The US Chamber of Commerce took us to court for impersonating them. That is why on this special p2p version of the Yes Men Fix the World, we have included an exclusive video that the US Chamber of Commerce does not want you to see. You can only see this surprising film on the exclusive VODO p2p release.

One final note: making films takes lots of hard work. And money. We busted our asses to make this film and still owe our friends barrels of cash they loaned us. By supporting us and joining the Yes Men Labs, you not only get a membership card and an entry into the prize draw, you also help us to pay all those people back and fund future projects. We're sharing by P2P because we made this film to be watched, and with your help we'll able to carry on with what we love doing."

About the Yes Men

The Yes Men are Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno, a culture jamming activist-duo raising awareness around social problems caused by corporations. Operating under the mission statement of telling the truth and exposing lies, they practice a concept they call "identity correction", in which they impersonate entities that they dislike -- some would call it social engineering on a grand scale! From their offices in Milwaukee, they create and maintain fake websites similar to ones they intend to spoof, which have successfully lead to numerous interview, conference, and TV talk show invitations. These occasions are then used to expose, through parody and surreal humour, the dark motivations of our multinational world.

Reviews

From NY Times:

Great fun! It takes some nerve, not to mention diabolical intelligence... to pull off the elaborate pranks devised by the Yes Men.

From New Scientist:

This is the year's top documentary film.

From Exxon:

We think it is a serious matter when people willingly misrepresent themselves.

These guys have such balls!!! Huge admiration for what they're up to.

The film, though, felt like such a bombardment of issues by the end that I finished watching, being overwhelmed by all of the information, but did manage to link through to the Bophal site www.bophal.org and CANNOT BELIEVE that this is the first time in my life that I've ever come across that hideous situation :(

At the very simplest, The Yes Men (re)open eyes to contemporary issues. Thank you!

In the latest installment associated with "Proven Tactics that Very best Retailers Use for connecting with SUBSTANTIAL Wholesalers" we will discuss most likely the most worthwhile resource for the purpose of finding comprehensive suppliers (as well in the western world receiving several incidental benefits) - the List price Industry Connections. Now, I try to find wholesalers in many different destinations. Some demand more deliver the results than some, and various will sound almost like wise practice when a person learn him or her.The point the following is that locating real extensive suppliers just isn't difficult, and anyone is able to do it themselves at no cost if they may have patience, a modest amount of industry information, and their happy to search in lots of different destinations.

Thank you for this great film that just puts its finger right on many of the absurdities of our world. So outrageous!

I still can't believe they bought into the golden skeleton, and the survival outfit..."refreshing"? Means what it means i guess, that's the run of the mill, what they talk about in the private meetings. But that they could actually endorse that in a public, supposedly at least a little politically correct conference, wow!

Great civic work there, and i really enjoyed also how you revealed the hypocrisy around the supposed "victims" of your interventions.

Great job. Keep on going. I used to be a rihgtwinger and believed in the free market. But government and large corporations should use this freedom with responsibilty and integrity. Those two generaly don't mix with profitability. It is possible if we change the way we think. Thank you for the enlightning!

It is so sad that we live in a world, some of which, purports the freedom of the press and democracy but where the deeds of such monstrous people and corporations mostly go unnoticed, unchallenged and unreported.

It's wonderful to see you chaps sticking your neck out and showing the monsters for what they are and even using their outrage to carry the signal via main stream media.

Hats off to you!

Thanks for creating - and sharing for free on VODO - this documentary. Some of your "pranks" are pretty stupid (from an "every man for himself" point of view) but not the "jackass" kind of stupid as your stunts have a purpose, agenda - and a good one at that. Cudos for that.

I don't personally subscribe to the bashing of capitalism per se - capitalism isn't "evil" (or "good" for that matter) - it just is. Capitalism isn't an ideology, it's a mechanism, a system, and as such not something that we should allow dictating our lives to the extent displayed in your various "showcases" in this film. Allowing this would make as much sense as allowing for instance thermodynamics to govern culture and religion.

Man is - should be - above mere systems. Being a civilised society means to go beyond the primitive needs and "instincts", and contributing to an "un-natural" state of living that would actually benefit us (as a species, but also individually) in the long run, in a way that the basic/primitive tools etched into our brain wouldn't be able to. One might use the more advanced parts of one's brain to exploit the capitalistic system, but it's the basic mechanisms like needs, survival, reproduction etc that make up the system.

Anyway. While watching your movie I though that I'd send some money your way afterwards as a token of appreciation. However, at the very end, after the credits etc, you encourage your audience to support the Sambhavna Clinic in Bhopal - at www.bhopal.org - and after watching how they still(!) suffer there, I decided to donate $100 to this clinic instead. Well, maybe not instead - in addition to.

Generally speaking, I'm not too fond of "activists". They tend to think their cause is more important than everything else, often creating more problems on the whole than actually solving. Your type of "activism" on the other hand, does have its "victims" but you actually take the time to talk to them, confirming that - even though your hoaxes being real would be better - they both benefit from your stunts and are ok with them (even if it's afterwards, when it'd be impossible to undo it).

I wish you good luck on your future endeavors!

(And apologise for my english - I'm not a native english speaker.)

Maybe you worked it out by now but, you need to go to http://www.utorrent.com/downloads and then you will see something different happen when you download the small 55k torrent file. It will open in the utorrent torrent program and download the film. You can read on the utorrent site, with screenshots, how to use the program effectively.

Good luck!
