Bank of America warning customers website not theirs

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- A news release that was sent out this morning and a new website that appears to be created by the Bank of America are fraudulent, according to Bank of America officials.

The website -- yourbofa.com-- announced what many Bank of America customers probably wished was real -- a partnership with taxpayers to revamp U.S. banking.

The official-looking news release came complete with the BofA's logo and the website features a letter with chief executive officer's Brian Moynihan's picture and signature.

According to the website, the fake campaign said it was reaching out to the American public for guidelines on how banking should happen.

It asks how the bank can do better and acknowledges that BofA isn't working any more due to practices that brought the economy to collapse.

Contact 13 called Bank of America which sent a tersely-written statement saying that it is not affiliated with the website and they have no comment on it.

Contact 13 and Action News will update this story if new information becomes available.
